The Township Clerk has confirmed that the petition protesting the passage of the ordinance which reduced the number of Police Officers in the Toms River Police Department has received over the required amount of signatures. The Council will have 20 days from March 27th, 2024 to repeal the ordinance, or it will be submitted to appear on a ballot as a question for voters in the upcoming November General Election.
Congratulations Toms River, another Battle won! Onto the next! Keep fighting!

Toms River Mayor Rodrick declares himself King, refusing to reinstate Police Positions he cut.
Last night, Mayor Dan Rodrick said despite public outcry, and successful petition which resulted in the Township Council repealing his Police Defunding Ordinance, he will not reinstate the Police positions that were cut.
It looks like Rodrick is taking a play out of his old running mate, Phil Murphy’s, playbook. Ruling by far reaching liberal executive orders instead of governing and listening to the people.
Stay tuned Toms River. The successful petition sent a message. The people of Toms need to be heard and will not be shut out!

The Toms River Township Council has rebuked Mayor Dan Rodrick’s plans to privatize Toms River’s Animal Control services with a pest control company. The decision came after nearly an hour of impassioned testimony and comments from concerned residents, dedicated Toms River animal control officers, and fellow animal lovers.

Toms River currently employs in house animal control officers who are responsive, professional and animal lovers themselves. They do a great job serving the residents and animals of Toms River Township!
